The Oregon State University baseball team maintained its slim lead over Oregon in the tight Pac-12 race by sweeping three straight games at Stanford over the weekend. The Beavers won the first game of the series 7-3 Friday night, then followed that up with a 10-4 win Saturday before holding on to beat the Cardinal 5-4 in the series finale Sunday afternoon.
OSU is now 41 and 8 overall, a conference-best 20-4 in the Pac-12. Oregon is one game back in the Pac-12 standings at 19-5. The Ducks, who swept three straight non-conference games at Ohio State over the weekend are now 40-11. The Ducks limited the Buckeyes (33-18) to just one run in 30 innings in the series in Columbus.
The Ducks will host Gonzaga in non-conference games Tuesday and Wednesday before hosting the Beavers in a crucial 3-game series Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Both Oregon and Oregon State have six conference games remaining and are both vying to host regional and super-regional tournaments in NCAA post-season play.
