The Portland Police Bureau has released video of a confrontation with a man who is suing them on claims of police brutality.

On June 18 2011, Jason Matthew Cox, 39, was involved in a traffic stop in the parking lot of a S.E. Portland strip club. He was arrested for DUII and other charges. During the arrest, police used force to take Cox into custody. He claims they punched him and used a Taser and the force was excessive.

"Officers are allowed to use reasonable force under all circumstances. What you see here is officers choosing to punish someone because they take offense at his attitude," said Cox's attorney, Greg Kafoury.

The lawsuit seeks more than a half-a-million dollars.

An internal police review board found the officers involved acted according to bureau policy. Click here to read files released by the bureau on this case.
