On Saturday, September 21, 2013, at about 8:42 am, Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue firefighters responded to a house fire at 43345 SW 109th Avenue in unincorporated Washington County near the City of Beaverton. Fire crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire. A TVFR investigator determined that the fire was the result of arson and turned the investigation over to Washington County Sheriff's Detectives.
The location is a residential house that has been converted into a business called "The Center for Behavioral Intervention" a sex offender treatment facility. Investigators found evidence that at least one person broke into the rear of the house. The business was ransacked and evidence indicates an accelerant was used to light files and furniture on fire. Money was also taken in the burglary.
No one was working in the business at the time of the burglary and no one saw the suspect or suspects enter or leave the house. Detectives are continuing to investigate this crime and ask for the public's help with any information that could help lead to an arrest.
