Car Prowls Up 17% In Portland

Crime stats from Portland show car break-ins are up 17% this year.

The Portland Police Bureau wants to remind community members to never leave valuables in their car to attract opportunistic thieves. If you must store anything in your vehicle, keep it out of sight and secure. When possible, park in busy, well-lit areas. 

Also, if you are the victim of a car prowl, the Police Bureau encourages victims to file a police report online by visiting http://www.PortlandPolice.com 

Community members are urged to protect themselves and their property by obtaining tips on how to prevent crime from occurring in their neighborhoods.
