When Milwaukie Police tried to stop 51-year-old Gregory Fischer near Highway 224 and SE Harrison Street he took off.
The van driven by Fischer veered off the roadway and crashed into landscaping shrubs several feet from the wall of the Public Safety Building at 3200 SE Harrison Street.
After crashing, Fischer exited the van and refused to comply with police directions. The police officer who initiated the traffic stop just happened to be the police canine handler. After Fischer refused numerous directions by police, the canine was deployed.
Fischer was taken into custody and later lodged at the Clackamas County Jail on charges of Felony Attempt to Elude, Reckless Driving, Criminal Mischief II, and Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants.
