When a fire was reported in a house in Aloha Tuesday morning, firefighters attacked it aggressively to keep the flames from spreading to the extremely dry trees and vegetation that was nearby.

The lone resident was able to get out safely.

When fire crews arrived flames had broken through the roof.  They were able to stop the fire before it spread.

The fire caused extensive damage to the house and destroyed the back deck.

The Red Cross helped the resident find temporary housing.

An investigator is working to determine how the fire started.
