It's the ending everyone feared.
Oregon State Police say a body found near the rural Marion County town of Talbot has been identified as that of 54-year-old Robert Knupp. The Keizer man's remains were discovered in a field Wednesday morning.
Knupp was reported missing June 8th, after his car was found abandoned at the Santiam rest area along Interstate 5, south of Salem.
He had worked for 17 years for Garten Services, Inc. of Salem. The company joined police in the hunt for Knupp. They circulated fliers, sent out employee search parties, even offered a $500 dollar reward, in hopes of finding him.
The Oregon State Medical Examiner will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
