The National Organization for Marriage filed a request for a stay with the U.S. Supreme Court, asking Justice Anthony Kennedy to put same sex marriages on hold while it appealed a decision by a federal judge earlier this month.  On Wednesday, the U.S. Supreme Court denied that request, which means the court will not get involved and will not block same sex marriages in the state.

Same sex marriages became legal earlier this month when a federal judge in Eugene overturned the voter approved ban, saying it was unconstitutional.
