A round-the-clock work schedule helped road crews finished the re-paving project on I-84 westbound ahead of schedule.
The freeway re-opened at 3:25 a.m. Monday. It was expected to re-open as late as 5 a.m.
Crews ground off the old road surface and re-paved the entire length from I-205 to I-5.
There will be one more closure from 11 p.m. Saturday August 3 through 5 a.m. Monday August 4, so crews can reconfigure the interchange with I-5 from westbound i-84.
The ramp has been the scene of several crashes including one last month that sent a semi over the guard rail.
The two lanes on the ramp will be reduced to one, so drivers won't be faced with last second lane changes.
