According to WLS in Chicago, Chuck E. Cheese is getting ready to unveil a new restaurant design, which includes getting rid of their animatronics.
The new design is said to have an interactive dance floor in it's place, and the games will no longer take tokens! Instead of the little gold coins, games will take pre-loaded game cards.
According to The Takeout, the long term plan was always to get rid of animatronics as "a child today has such high expectations for entertainment that the animatronics, even at their absolute best, can’t live up to those expectations," in a statement to NPR from CEO Tom Leverton.
Personally, even as a kid the dancing band freaked me out. Are you sad to see them go?
