Lars Ulrich and Robert Trujillo Urge Fans To Participate in Community Service
With the launch of Metallica's new charitable foundation All Within My Hands, the band members are encouraging fans to participate in "Metallica Day of Service" on May 23rd.
For the fans that sign up at participating food banks will get a Metallica themed shirt for their efforts. Sadly, no food banks in Portland are participating in "Metallica Day of Service" but if you want to snag that shirt, a food bank up north in Seattle is taking part.
Rob Halford Says Judas Priest Fans Are Upset Over The Bands Hall of Fame Snub
Rob Halford of Judas Priest talked with The Portland Mercury when he stopped by Portland on the bands Firepower tour. The interviewer asked Halford if he felt snubbed at all after being nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but fell short of receiving the honors.
"I wouldn’t say snubbed. A little bit disappointed. For us it’s all about getting more metal into the halls there. Our friends from Metallica are in there. Sabbath is in there. You pay your dues. It’s funny really. We got more milage out of not going in then if we would’ve got in. Our fans are furious! They’re still furious. That’s the love that our fans have got. We love our fans dearly. We wouldn’t have gotten anywhere in life without our incredible fans that support us. Fingers crossed. Eventually, I think we’ll get in there."
