Tom Morello Shares Police Ledger Documenting Great Grandpa's 1912 Arrest

Tom Morello is giving fans a look into his "family's scoundrel DNA" by sharing a photo of a police ledger documenting his great grandfather's arrest in 1912 on Instagram.

"1912 Marseilles, Illinois police ledger recounting the arrest and court date of my great grandfather Quinto Morello," the Rage Against the Machine guitarist captioned the photo. "His crime? Selling liquor on Sunday at Morello’s Tavern. His fine? $25 plus $3 court costs. Thanks @maureenherman for unearthing this historical link to my family’s scoundrel DNA."

In a comment, he revealed a $25 fine in 1912 is the equivalent to approximately $750 in 2019. Crazy!

Morello's Instagram feed is chock full of funny stories and interesting anecdotes. Over the weekend he shared a hilarious story about a staff member dressed as a zombie at Universal Studio's Halloween Horror Nights recognizing him and asking for a selfie (which Morello took and posted. It's glorious) after throwing up metal horns, and during the summer he posted a photo outside a German apartment building his mother had lived in 70 years prior when his band Prophets of Rage were in the neighborhood to play a music festival.
