Elon Musk and Grimes Actually Can't Name Their Baby X Æ A-12

Heavenly Bodies: Fashion & The Catholic Imagination Costume Institute Gala - Arrivals

Elon Musk, known for founding SpaceX, co-founder of Tesla and more, has had his first child with musician wife Grimes.

While the arrival of the baby was bound to make headlines, no one was prepared for what the couple would name the baby. While there had been a lot of speculation as to what the name would be, they revealed that they decided on X Æ A-12. Ever since the arrival, the internet has been questioning how to say the name and the meaning behind it.

Grimes went to Twitter to clear up the meaning behind the unusual name, but didn't clarify how to say it.

The world has mostly agreed that the name was outrageous, and they were just asking for their kid to be bullied. Well, according to a new article from TMZ, they legally cannot name their baby X Æ A-12 in the state of California.

TMZ talked to a supervisor at the Department of Public Health Vital Records Office in Los Angeles, where the baby was said to have been born, who said that you cannot legally use numbers or symbols in a name. Names can only be created with letters in the English alphabet.

Now the question is, what name will be on the birth certificate. Archangel? XA? I guess we'll have to wait and see.
