Last summer Aerosmith announced their "heartbreaking" decision to retire from touring after Steven Tyler sustained a vocal injury that he continues to struggle with, but the singer must be feeling better because on Thursday (January 23) members of the band announced they were playing a one-off show at Tyler's 6th Annual Jam for Janie Grammy Awards Viewing Party next month.

A press release specifically mentions Aerosmith members Joe Perry and Tom Hamilton joining Tyler for the performance; however does not named rhythm guitarist Brad Whitford or drummer Joey Kramer. Billy Idol, Joan Jett, Linda Perry, Matt Sorum, and Nuno Bettencourt are also slated to perform.

Every year the benefit raises money for Janie’s Fund, which Tyler created to support young girls who have suffered from abuse and neglect. This year's proceeds will also aid the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation and Widows, Orphans and Disabled Firefighter’s Fund.

“What the Los Angeles community has endured with these wildfires is unthinkable,” Tyler said in a statement. “Music has healing powers and we hope to bring a moment of joy and levity to our first-responder firefighters and those most affected by the fires. The trauma experienced by the girls we work with is also unthinkable and we will continue to shed light and support the amazing work of Janie’s Fund.”

Jam for Janie is set to take place February 2 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles and will be hosted by actor-comedian Tiffany Haddish.
