Linkin Park Surprise-Announces New Album

In November, Linkin Park released From Zero. The album marked their first in seven years and first with new co-vocalist Emily Armstrong. Now, the band's sharing all those songs in a cappella form—and the new album comes out tomorrow (January 24).

“Before Linkin Park, our first band name was Xero. This album title refers to both this humble beginning and the journey we’re currently undertaking," Mike Shinoda explained in a statement regarding From Zero. "Sonically and emotionally, it is about past, present, and future—embracing our signature sound, but new and full of life.”

“It was made with a deep appreciation for our new and longtime bandmates, our friends, our family, and our fans," he added. "We are proud of what Linkin Park has become over the years, and excited about the journey ahead.”

The band is heading out on a massive world tour later this month, which will notably not include original member Brad Delson. The guitarist recently explained why he won't be touring with the band even though he helped make the new album. Alex Feder is set to take his place on the road.
