You can help clean up beaches and river banks during SOLVE's Fall Beach and Riverside Clean ups that start Friday and continue through September 27th.
Since 1969, SOLVE has been organizing environmental clean ups. It started with the beaches and then expanded to riverbanks and communities.
SOVLE.org has a map with events near you. They provide the tools and the garbage bags, and you do the litter clean up.
