The rock community has been paying tribute to Iron Maiden's Nicko McBrain, as the iconic drummer announced his retirement.
McBrain's 42-year career in Iron Maiden, came to an end at the conclusion of The Future Past tour in Sao Paulo, Brazil, which shocked the rock world.
"one of the warmest and friendliest dudes I have ever had the sincere pleasure to spend a bit of time with." said Rush's Geddy Lee.
Anthrax's Scott Ian, shared video clips of his son Revel playing on McBrain's warmup drum kit backstage at a Maiden show. "Nicko made sure everyone backstage knew that that was Revel's warmup kit as well," he said.
Adrian Smith, shared a video reel that will make you reach for a tissue, as Nicko's leaving marks the first big lineup change since Smith and Bruce Dickenson came back to the band back in 2009.
Nicko McBrain is one of the greatest and most beloved drummers in rock history and his career is as legendary as Maiden's Eddie himself.
Thank You Nicko!
