The Knocks and Skylar Spence Team Up For 'Amelia Airhorn'

Electronic DJ's The Knocks and Skylar Spence have teamed up for a new project entitled Amelia Airhorn. Their first track was released exclusively via Billboard this morning.

Personally, I think the song is a banger, but if you know me The Knocks can do no wrong in my eyes. They could release a remixed compilation of fart noises and I would think it's the next best thing to ever hit the dance music scene. Okay, while that's not FULLY true, they haven't released anything so far that I haven't loved.

The vibes on this track are that true nu-disco and a unique sound that you don't get very often in EDM anymore. The inspiration for Amelia was drawn from New York City, where both The Knocks and Skylar Spence reside. Both groups have heavy influences from disco and it really shines through this track. This song is one that should be added to the soundtrack for your summer.

The duo was quoted when describing the concept for Amelia Airhorn that "On a dark, glittering summer night in 1992, a girl named Amelia Airhorn stepped into New York City nightlife and never came out. She’s a living and breathing sample, slipping in and out of the hectic thrill of the city — kicked up high-tempo on flashbulbs and disco balls, easing back into the heartbeat of a crowd dancing in a basement and a couple making their way uptown at dawn. She’s everywhere if you know what to listen for, and on this experimental concept mixtape, NYC-based electronic duo The Knocks and nu-disco producer and vocalist Skylar Spence catch Amelia Airhorn's silhouette." - via Billboard

Bascially, I wish that I was Amelia Airhorn. This girl is living the life I want to have. I want to live inside this song, and everything it encompasses.

The Knocks and Skylar Spence recently went on tour together for The Knocks 'I Feel Good I Feel Great Tour.' While Spence was not the opener at EVERY show, I did see part of his set while he was in Portland with the duo. Both The Knocks and Skylar Spence know how to put on a good set and make great music. The love child of these two acts is a super group that I would recommend keeping an eye on.

Can't wait to hear more of Amelia Airhorn! <3
