If you've never gotten a tattoo, they all hurt, but ones over scars hurt extra bad. I had a breast reduction when I was 18, and the scars on the sides of my breasts are very red and will never fade. So I decided to get those tattooed over. When I was 19 I got my very first tattoo on my right rib cage. I didn't know what to expect so it went by quick and I was able to handle. I got this work done from Tyler at Grizzly Tattoo (one of my favorite shops in Portland)! This is actually one of my smaller tattoos.
Then LAST WEEK, I got the mother of all tattoos. My biggest and most painful piece to date. I cried. I literally clenched the table during the last 20 minutes with one hand while I covered my face with the other and cried. I went to Diego at Daredevil Tattoo in New York City. He was awesome! If you're ever in the city, check him out! He was awesome while I cried too. This one goes from the middle of my rib cage on the left side up into my armpit.
So, if you wanna get a tattoo to cover a scar, it rocks... but you're gonna be in pain.
