This week we’d like to feature Rin. Rin is a 5 year old, 65 lb German Shepard mix. She’s a sweet girl who enjoys walks and does very well walking on a leash. Rin can be a bit shy with new people so she’ll need a little time to warm up at first. And who can blame her? She came to us from Stockton, CA and new to living in a shelter, so she’s a bit nervous in her surroundings. She’s affectionate and playful and would love to go home with an active, outdoorsy family. She tried to live with cats and did fine with them when they were still, but when they ran around, she really wanted to chase them. Because of that Rin may be more comfortable in a home without cats. Also, she’s quite the athlete. In the shelter she managed to jump out of her kennel (a kennel that’s about 6 feet tall), so until she’s settled in to her new home she should be supervised when in the yard. Oh, and did I mention running in the yard is her very favorite thing? If she can jump straight up and get out of a 6 foot kennel, getting over a 4 feet fence with a running start would probably be a piece of cake for her! Rin also knows sit, stay, and come, and she’s housetrained. Does this beautiful, active, athletic Shepard seem like she might be the girl for you?
