T&D Dog of the Week: Bashful

Bashful is a 1 year, 2 month old 61 pound American Pit Bull. She was found as stray in southern Oregon before making her way to Oregon Humane. Bashful is a smart girl who is full of puppy energy! She loves playing with other dogs and might do best with another dog in the home to play with, but of course she’ll need to meet any potential canine companions first before going home with them.  She’d do fine in a home with older kiddos, but really needs to be in a home without little ones. Remember how we mentioned puppy energy? Well, Bashful is young enough she can still get pretty excited and jumps up, so at this point in her life she’s a little too rough and tumble for little ones.  She needs to go to a home with a fully fenced yard and no shared walls. Around 8pm she tends to get the zoomies, and during that time she can be very talkative, which shared-wall neighbors don’t always appreciate! While she’s a big fan of playing with other dogs, Bashful also really good at entertaining herself, which you’ll see in her video! She just loves to play, be it with other dogs or entertaining herself! You’ll also notice in her video what beautiful markings she has (I grew up on a dairy farm and her markings remind me of a Holstein cow)! Bashful knows sit, down, leave it and ‘paw’, and is eager to learn new commands and tricks! As far as we know, she hasn’t lived with cats before, but she does have an interest in them…and not necessarily a well-intentioned interest. Pretty sure she wants to chase them.  Because of this, we feel like she would do best in a cat-free home. If Bashful sounds like she might be the girl for you, just fill out the questionnaire at the bottom of her profile and someone from OHS will call you to chat more about her.
