T&D Dog of the Week: Spirit

Spirit is a sweet, smart girl who is a bit slow to warm up to new people. She needs to find a home with a patient person who has time to continue working on training using the same positive reinforcement techniques we use at OHS. She can get excited and mouthy once you are her buddy and could easily overwhelm a child, so we’re requiring that he go into an adult-only home – or one with older teens. Spirit needs a home with a securely fenced yard where she can play with you. She does not like to be left alone in the yard. She will try to get out of the fence if she is left unattended. She will not be able to go to the dog park, so leashed walks and playtime in your yard will help her be successful. Spirit needs to find a home without small dogs, cats, or other small animals. She may do okay with a dog of similar size; but she will get overwhelmed by a dog that would try to push her to play.
