We’d like to introduce Kaya, a beautiful young shepard mix. Kaya - Oregon Humane Society Kaya is a little over a year-and-a-half old and weighs 45 pounds. A ‘petite shepard’, you might say. Kaya is a sweet girl who loves to run, ride in the car, and play tug-of-war. She really does NOT like when the vet takes her temperature and can be a little nippy about that, but who can blame her!? She has a video so you can see how playful she is and how well she walks on a leash. In her last home, she lived on a large property. Of course, she lived in the house with her people, but still had lots of room to roam outside. Because she’s used to spending time outside, she would probably be more comfortable in a home with a large fenced yard than living in a place with lots of hustle and bustle but no outdoor space. As far as we know, Kaya has never been around kids or cats, and she’s know to be better with smaller dogs than bigger dogs (she does have a history of going to doggie day care). Kaya is both crate-trained and potty trained and is whip smart. She knows lots of commands, like sit, stay, down, come, leave it, wait, and off. That’s pretty impressive for such a young dog!
