Researchers in California have developed a new type of ice cube that could be revolutionary. They have designed a reusable ice cube that does not melt. These "jelly ice cubes" are plastic-free, contain over 90% water, and have a gelatin-like feel to them. The reusable ice cube holds can be used for cooling for 13 hours before being washed and reused, which could change the way food is stored and shipped. READ MORE.
A recent study showed that blasting AC/DC music in operating rooms almost doubled surgeons’ speed at some things without affecting their exactness. As an example, doctors in the trials that listened to 'Highway to Hell' and 'T.N.T.' were able to make a precision cut in 139 seconds instead of the usual 236 seconds. Music is played in around two-thirds of operations. The study found both hard and soft rock improved surgeons’ performance, but for hard rock “The positive effect was especially noticeable when the music was played at high volume.” READ MORE.
