Emmy nominations were announced yesterday and some of our favorite shows are on the list - HBO's Succession received 25 nominations total, 14 of which were acting categories, which is a record. Ted Lasso earned 20 noms, Ozark and Stranger Things both received 13. Yellowstone was one of the biggest snubs this year as the show did not get a single nomination. Also in television news, the city of Albuquerque, NM has announced that it will be erecting a statue of everyone’s favorite meth-making duo. Breaking Bad characters Walter White and Jesse Pinkman. The two bronze statues will displayed inside the ABQ Convention Center starting on July 29th. READ MORE.
Apple is developing it’s own self-driving car, it’s called Project Titan, but the test drives haven’t been going so well. According to reports, during a recent test drive in Silicon Valley, the cars kept veering out of lanes and smashing into curbs. In one instance it almost ran over a jogger who was crossing the street. Apple is supposed to start production on the autonomous cars in 2024, we’ll see if they can figure it out by then. READ MORE.
Starbucks has announced that they are closing 16 stores in select cities citing safety concerns. According to a spokesperson, "After careful consideration, we are closing some stores in locations that have experienced a high volume of challenging incidents that make it unsafe to continue to operate." This includes stores in Seattle, LA, Philly, DC and Portland, OR (the 4th and Morrison and Gateway locations). READ MORE.
