The gun held by Harrison Ford in the original “Star Wars” film sold for more than $1 million at an auction held over the weekend. His DL-44 Heavy Blaster Pistol was sold for a whopping $1,057,500 and is the last surviving example of three models that were made for the franchise’s original trilogy. In the mid-1950s, nearly half of US adults smoked cigarettes, but in 2022 that figure has plummeted to just 11%—and it's now been surpassed by Americans who say they smoke pot. According to Gallup's annual consumption poll conducted 16% of respondents say they smoke marijuana, the first time that drug has surpassed cigarettes as smokers' substance of choice.
