Not surprisingly, the death of Queen Elizabeth spurred renewed interest in “The Crown,” the popular Netflix series that follows the monarch’s life and events during her time on the throne. “The Crown,” which begins in the late 1940s prior to Elizabeth’s becoming the Queen of England, will end with Season 6, taking the show into the early 2000s. The world's first partial heart transplant has been completed on a newborn baby. The feat was accomplished by a team of doctors and surgeons at Duke Health in Durham, North Carolina. The infant wouldn't have survived long enough for a full transplant, so doctors took valves from a donor heart and fused them onto the baby's tissue. He'll have to undergo multiple surgeries as he grows older, but doctors hope the new technique can be used to save other children born with heart defects. READ MORE.
The City of Portland is considering new requirements for electric vehicle charging stations at apartment buildings. Proposed new zoning amendments would require half of parking spaces in new multi-dwelling buildings be EV ready. For buildings with six or fewer spaces, they would all be required to have EV charging. Starting in March of 2023, the State of Oregon is requiring 40% of parking spaces at multi-dwelling buildings be EV ready. READ MORE.
