At least four people have been killed after Nicole hit Florida’s eastern coast as a Category 1 hurricane earlier this week. Streets remain flooded and thousands of customers are still without power this morning. Nicole weakened into a tropical storm yesterday and is now headed north to Georgia and the Carolinas. Two more eastern Oregon counties look to join a growing campaign to extend Idaho’s western border to add part of Oregon to the state of Idaho. Morrow and Wheeler counties both voted on Tuesday to support the “Greater Idaho” movement; if those results hold, that will mean that 11 Oregon counties have adopted the idea in the last two years. In a news release on Wednesday, the leader of the movement said “We call on the Legislature to let each half of the state go their separate ways in peace." READ MORE.

Blood grown in a laboratory has been transfused into humans for the first time in a clinical trial that researchers say could significantly improve treatment for people with blood disorders and rare blood types. Two patients in the U.K. received tiny doses of the lab-grown blood in the first stage of a wider trial designed to see how it behaves inside the body. Researchers say the aim is not to replace regular human blood donations, which will continue to make up the majority of transfusions. But the technology could allow scientists to manufacture very rare blood types which are difficult to source. READ MORE.

Starting Monday, Bruce Springsteen will be starting a residency on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. He’ll make at least four appearances this month, beginning Monday thru Wednesday of next week. He'll be back for The Tonight Show's Thanksgiving episode on Nov. 24. He is expected to debut four songs from his new album of soul music covers, Only the Strong Survive, which is out today. "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" is expected to crush at the box office this weekend. Some projections have the sequel making between $185-million and $200-million domestically and is expected to be the third biggest global opening of the pandemic era behind Marvel's "Spider-Man: No Way Home" and "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness." The original "Black Panther" brought in more than one-point-three-billion-dollars at the worldwide box office during its run. READ MORE.

Fake accounts are popping up all over Twitter after Elon Musk scraped the social media platform's verification policies. Phony profiles have appeared for Donald Trump, George W. Bush, LeBron James and other famous people. Many of the phony accounts have since been taken down, but some are still up, including a phony account for Musk's car company, Tesla. The Federal Trade Commission is now “deeply concerned” and is monitoring the situation. READ MORE.
