Guitar legend Jeff Beck has passed away. His family announced the news yesterday stating that he’d contracted bacterial meningitis and died peacefully on Tuesday. He first gained momentum in the 60s with the Yardbirds and then became the frontman for the Jeff Beck Group he also recently appeared on Ozzy Osbourne’s song 'Patient No. 9' and had been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame twice. The FAA might know what caused them to ground every plane in the country yesterday for the first time since 9/11. They think one corrupted file did it. And it tanked the primary and back-up systems. The FAA knew it was a problem on Tuesday, but said the only way to fix the system was to turn it off and turn it back on again, but the reboot took longer than anticipated. Turns out, the system is super outdated, it’s been around since 1947 and now politicians are calling for an overhaul to make sure this never happens again. READ MORE.

Frankie Muniz announced on Instagram yesterday that he’s pursuing a career as a NASCAR driver. He’ll race full-time for Rett Jones Racing in the ARCA series, and he's set to compete in 20 races over the course of the season. The first ARCA race of 2023 is February 18 at Daytona International Speedway, the day before the Daytona 500. READ MORE.

Pepsi has debuted the new lemon-lime soda to replace Sierra Mist. New Starry soda is described as 'an easy-to-drink, optimally sweet soda bursting with lemon-lime flavor that delivers the crisp, refreshing bite consumers have been longing for in the lemon lime flavored soda category.' It’s also available in a Zero Sugar version.

After nearly three years of conducting virtual adoptions, the Multnomah County Animal Services shelter has resumed in-person adoptions. The shelter was closed to adoptions and taking stray animals for the last week, because they had limited staff and too many animals. All adoption fees will be waived for the next 30 days and the shelter will resume taking strays and lost animals today (1/12).
