We have a really sweet little mama we’d like to feature this week. I’d like you to meet Elena. Elena - Oregon Humane Society. She’s just a little bit, just 39 pounds and about 5 years old.
We think she might be a lab/pit mix, but because she’s so small I suspect she has a mix of a bunch of smaller breeds too. I’d be curious to see DNA results for this little love bug.
Elena was found as a stray in Washington County and this little lady looks like she’s been the mama to a LOT of puppies. One litter and the girlish figure comes right back. In this case, I don’t think sweet Elena will ever have a girlish figure again. She has clearly been a good (and most likely frequent) mama. And based on my experience, the mama dogs are always the sweetest dogs. Elena is no exception! This little lady is a lap dog extraordinaire! She is so sweet, happy and cuddly.
She had some issues with her teeth and has already had a major dental cleaning, which is a big bonus! She also had some lumps and bumps and had a mass removed from her thigh, which after testing came back as benign. This little mama also had some mammary masses which are common in unspayed females. She’s had those removed too!
Sweet little Elena appears to have had a pretty rough life before coming into the care of OHS. Since she’s been with us, she’s had a full medical work up and has had a medical ‘fine-tuning’. Even with all she’s been through, she’s a happy happy girl. She is definitely a ‘glass half full’ kind of a gal!
While her body indicates she’s had a tough life so far, her attitude sure does NOT. She is as sweet as can be! She’s friendly, engaging, and loves the company of people. This little gal is a true gem. She’s looking for a place where she can live the second half of her live in comfort and care, after having lived what seems like pretty rough circumstances for the first part of her life. She’s so resilient and deserves to be pampered!
