This week we’d like to feature a special fella named Tater. Tater - Oregon Humane Society Tater is a big guy. He’s a 5 ½ year old Coonhound who weighs in at 84 pounds. Check out his profile! He has a video and lots of pictures. We don’t know a lot about Tater because he came to us from Washington County where he was found as a stray. He served his stray hold there but his people never showed up to look for him so he came to Oregon Humane Society so we can find his new people for him.
Coonhounds are scent hounds, and that’s very apparent on his walks. This big guy really follows his nose! He’s friendly with people and loves to hang out. He also likes to go on outings. Check out the pictures of some of the offsite hikes he’s been on! And he has just about the fanciest ears around!
Tater likes some dogs he meets and is a little so-so with others, so he’ll need to meet any potential canine companions before going home. And he’d probably do best in a single-family home (one without shared walls). Hound dogs usually have a lot to say and sweet Tater is no exception! He has a big voice when he bays!
