We’d like to introduce you to a handsome, blue-eyed dog named Jericho! Jericho - Oregon Humane Society And, he has a video? Jericho was found as a stray in Washington County in late July. He’s almost a year and a half old, is an American Pit Bull mix, and weighs in at a tidy 46 pounds.
This boy loves people! I really like hanging out with him in his kennel and just yesterday spent a long time with him practicing sit and down, but mostly just petting him. He loves to have his face and hips rubbed and is so appreciative to get a nice massage and one-on-one time with people. After a little bit he laid down and fell fast asleep. Such a sweet boy!
Jericho can be nervous about some dogs. When he is, he comes off as barky and pulls toward the other dog, but when it’s a dog he likes, ah, perfection! Because he can be picky (hey, can’t we all?) he’ll need to meet any canine companions before going home. We want to make sure it’s a good match! He has a bit of a hard time reading other dogs signals when they try to tell him they’re done playing. If he goes home with another dog, he’d likely do best with another young dog with similar energy levels. In addition, he’d do best in a home without cats. We’ve learned that he just really wants to chase them, and that’s no fun for the cat!
Jericho would be a great hiking, running, adventure partner. If possible, he’d like to go to a home with a fully fenced yard for him to run around in, because he loves to run around! He loves chase, and ball, and fetch, and all those fun games. A quiet, low traffic home would be perfect for him.
